“The Battle Is Shifting from the Desktop to the Mobile Space”

Google Bets the Farm on Mobile

NPR story on Google's maneuverings

A few days ago I heard a story on NPR (National Public Radio) with Sam Gustin, a writer for Wired.com.

Sam discussed Google’s latest moves along with those of Google’s competitors.  As Sam put it, “The battle is shifting from the desktop to the mobile space.”  Sam also explained that “In technology and on the internet, the biggest watch words are Mobile, Social, and Local.”  Google developed the Android Mobile Operating System in an effort to control this marketplace.  And Android is making incredible inroads. Now Google/Android, Apple/iPhone, and Facebook are all jostling for position and dominance in the mobile space.  As Sam stated, everybody recognizes the fact mobile is the next great battlefront for advertising dollars.

Everything in this NPR story is perfectly aligned with our message at FetchLocalCustomers.com .  The big dogs are fighting it out to be the dominant platform because they know that local businesses will have to advertise online and market to the smart phone crowd.  Hell, Groupon just turned down 6 Billion Dollars because they think their local online advertising platform is worth more or can make more money than that.  More than six billion dollars.  That’s billion, with a b.

If you are a local business person who is ready to compete online for a fraction of the cost of traditional paper advertising, give us a call at 888-505-6162.  If you’re not ready, I hope you become ready before your competition beats you to it.

If you want to ease into things, you can read about specific Mobile Advertising Options and even download a free report.
